How to choose a black office chair
Mesh or leather?
A mesh back lets air through, so it stays cooler over a long day; see our mesh office chairs. Leather and faux leather wipe clean and suit a manager's office or a meeting room; see our leather and executive chairs.
Who will sit in it, and for how long?
Most of these chairs are made for a normal working day. If one chair is shared across shifts, look for chairs rated for 24-hour use, such as the Strata, Panther and Cheetah. Our heavy duty office chairs list more. If a product page does not give the maximum user weight, call our friendly team on 0344 755 3018 and we will check it before you order.
Will it fit you and your desk?
Most desks are 720 to 730mm high, so compare that with the seat height range on the product page. Taller people should look at the high-back chairs. Some of the black factory chairs come with a draughtsman kit, a foot ring and a taller gas lift, so they work at high benches and counters.
Buying for a team?
For 5 or more chairs, a mix of models or a whole office, call our friendly team on 0344 755 3018 or ask us for a quote, and we will price the whole order.
Delivery and returns
Standard delivery is free to most UK addresses. The Highlands and islands, Northern Ireland and a short list of other postcodes carry a surcharge, so check our delivery policy before ordering to one of them. A chair marked Next Day Delivery arrives the next working day when it is in stock and you order before the cut-off on its product page.
Home customers can return a chair within 30 days of delivery if it is unused, unassembled and in its original packaging. Check the size and seat height on the product page before you build it. We arrange the collection and the collection charge comes off your refund. Business customers pay a 15% restocking fee plus collection. The full terms are in our returns policy.
Questions about black office chairs
Which black office chairs have arms?
The product photos show the arms on each chair. On the Calypso and Versi chairs you choose the arm type when you order, including a no-arms version. The Marlos has folding arms that lift out of the way so the chair tucks under the desk.
Is there a cheap black office chair?
Yes. Sort the grid by price, low to high.
Can I get the same chair in another colour?
Some of these chairs come in more than one colour. The colour choices are on each product page, and blue chairs have their own page.
Do you sell black leather office chairs?
Yes, mostly executive chairs. See all our leather office chairs for other colours.
