How to choose an office desk
What size?
Allow at least 800mm of desk width per person. Most single desks here run from 800mm to 1800mm wide: 600mm deep on the narrow desks and usually 800mm on the others. Most corner desks are 1600mm or 1800mm wide and 1200mm deep.
Which shape?
Choose between rectangular desks, corner desks, which give you a second work surface, and bench desks, where multiple people share one frame.
Finish
Desks come in white, oak, beech, black and grey oak, on silver, white or black frames. Bespoke finishes are available on some ranges.
Storage at the desk
Some of our desks come as a bundle with a matching 2 or 3 drawer pedestal, and some of those add a chair, so a whole workstation comes in one order. See our office desk bundles, or add office pedestals to any desk.
Furnishing an office or a whole floor?
For 5 or more units, or a mix of products for one project, our friendly team will price the whole order: call 0344 755 3018 or send us your list.
Delivery and returns
We deliver to England, Scotland and Wales, and standard delivery is free to most addresses. A surcharge applies to the Highlands and islands, Northern Ireland and some listed postcodes (see the delivery policy). Items marked Next Day Delivery arrive the next working day, subject to stock, when you order before the cut-off shown on the product page.
If you change your mind, a home customer can send a desk back within 30 days of delivery. It must be unused, still flat-packed and in its original packaging, and the collection charge is taken off the refund. Business orders carry a 15% restocking fee plus collection. Measure the space before you assemble anything. Details: returns policy.
Some desks and bench systems are made to order, such as the Albion range, in 4 to 6 weeks. Check the product page for its lead time, or ask our friendly team before you order. A made-to-order item can be cancelled within 24 hours of ordering; after that it can only be returned if it is faulty or not as described.
Questions about office desks
What is the difference between a desk and a workstation?
Very little. Workstation is the trade word for a desk set up for one person. Bench desks are rows of workstations that share a frame.
How quickly can I get a desk?
Desks marked for it are in our next day delivery office desks: in stock and ordered before the cut-off on the product page, they arrive the next working day.
Do desks come assembled?
Most arrive flat-packed, and the product page says whether assembly is required. Ask our friendly team about installation on 0344 755 3018.
Can I add power and cable management?
Yes. See our desk power modules and monitor arms.
